What does your PTSA do at Redmond Junior High?

We make good things happen!

 

We support Associated Student Body (“ASB”) events – PTSA volunteers help with:

  • student schedule distribution

  • the Fall magazine drive to raise funds for ASB

  • school dance ticket sales

  • chaperoning dances

  • student body elections

  • 9th grade celebration in June

 

Legislative Advocacy – We support state legislative efforts to ensure the health, education and the welfare of all students.

 

Grizzly Grams – We address and mail teacher-generated postcards to recognize student efforts and achievements throughout the school year.

 

Student Recognition – We help provide monthly recognition lunches and locker decorations for the “Students-of-the-Month.”

 

Safe Arrival – We work with the school attendance office each morning to notify parents regarding student absences.

 

Reading Tutors – We assist one-on-one with students to improve reading skills.

 

Special Needs – We assist the Special Needs Liaison with support for RJH staff, education for the community, and advocating for children with special needs.

 

Reflections – We coordinate the WA State PTA and National PTA cultural arts competition that allows RJH student to showcase their creative talent through original works.

 

Library Helpers – We help the school librarians with projects and volunteer for library hours.

 

PTSA Student Directory – We create, print and send a Student Directory with helpful information and student names and numbers to our members.

 

Parent Communications – We provide timely announcements of school activities and matters of interest through weekly email newsletters and periodic print newsletters.

 

Parent Education – We help coordinate and provide parent education events at our school and in the community.

 

Emergency Preparedness – We work with school administration and the school district PTSA council to ensure adequate emergency preparedness.

 

Health Screening – We provide volunteers to help test student vision and hearing at a once-yearly event.

 

Staff Appreciation – We provide small events throughout the year to show appreciation for school staff.

 

Hospitality – We provide refreshments for evening school and PTSA events.

 

Teacher Mini-Grants – We have provided monetary grants to Redmond Junior High staff and their programs to further enrich the lessons and activities of the students.
